I was hesitant to spend $300 on a sleeping bag, but now I’m totally convinced!
First of all, Luno’s story about the zippers is spot on. They’re smooth, don’t snag on anything, and won’t drive you crazy.
Second, when they say it’s warm and cozy, they’re not exaggerating. Last week in the Wisconsin Driftless, I woke up to a crunchy frost and 26 degrees. I didn’t want to get out of the car! Even without my old insulated sleeping clothes, I was still warm, although I kept my merino beanie on as I love keeping my pillow under the flap top as it doesnt slide around on me. .
Third, when I first got the product, I was overwhelmed by how big it was. I thought I’d have storage and travel issues. But then I realized that it’s actually the same size as a 20-degree rated bag, plus an extra blanket for the fire side. Now, it’s just a two-in-one item, and it’s perfect for two normal-sized people. I’m a bigger guy, and I solo camp, so the room and comfort are incredible.
Fourth, don’t ignore the significance of the fitted straps—- HUGE improvement as now the sleeping comforter doesnt slide into corners while I wiggle around at night.
Last, I’m finally ditching my old, heavy winter bag and using this versatile version all the time. I’m saving shelf space in the garage, and I might even get back some of my money. Well done, Luno! You’ve made a great product.
