Gear Snapshot: 4Runner Trunk Window Screen

Must Have!

We love this window screen. The rear window acts like a suction and brings dust in when off roading, this screen nearly stops that so we can open that window. It also allows us to have windows open without dealing with bugs when we camp/picnic.

    Don’t buy

I finally had the opportunity to use the rear window screen in the Adirondack Mountains. It does not work. The magnets didn’t stick and even if they did stick, the thing didn’t fit my window. I also purchased the rear window screens, which work perfectly.

Poor fit - does not cover whole window

As others have noted, this screen does not fit well. The mesh is way too tight. The bottom magnets will not stay attached and the bottom of the screen rises up and exposes the window (see pic). Videos and pictures advertised with the product seem to show the screen fitting much more loosely, so perhaps there's a quality control issue (some fit great, others do not)? Either way, very disappointed.

    Fully awesome!

Disclaimer off-label use described 🤪. I don’t have a 4 runner. And I can’t find this kind of screen for my 2025 Land Cruiser, The window sizes are close, and the concept is similar,. Modifying this screen looked doable. Bought it, replaced the foam inserts with magnets. And the first modification is pretty great.. Opening the seam on the edging and stitching it back up was simple. It was like 15 minutes of hand stitching. Going to add a few more magnets and it will be perfect enough. Really nicely made quality product that should last a long time. Love the stow back.
