THE ROUTE TO
RESPONSIBILITY

Here’s how people and planet influence our business GPS system.

OUR PLEDGE

To be a radically responsible business that keeps
the betterment of people and planet as our driving force.

HOW WE’RE
MAKING A CHANGE

Gear

We craft durable, long-lasting gear that
stays out of the landfill, using eco-friendly
materials and up-cycling whenever possible.

Giving

The outdoors has given us so much. To return
the favor, we donate both products and
profits to causes close to heart.

Planet

We actively seek to reduce our carbon
footprint and educate our community
members how to do the same.

FURTHERING
THE LUNO LIFECYCLE

Giving gear another life with
our ReRoam Upcycle Program

When the rare defective mattress is returned to us, we pass those mattresses along to upcyclers like Bend, Oregon-based Tailgate Industries, who then fashions our fabrics into new camping gear.

Ditching the Dump with
our Buy-Back Program

Thanks to our new BuyBack Program, Luno customers can exchange used mattresses that are in like-new/good condition for store credit. In turn, we ensure mattresses are functioning before re-selling them as pre-owned gear. By connecting old gear with new campers, we extend the lifecycle of Luno Air Mattresses.

GIVING BACK 3% OF PROFITS
WITH THE LUNO CAR(E)
CAMPING PROGRAM

Through the Luno Car(e) Camping Program, we commit to donating 3% of
profits each year to support environmental and diversity, equity, and
inclusivity (DEI) causes. That 3% breaks down as follows:

1%

Biodiversity Conservation

Guided by the Yale Center for Biodiversity and
Global Change, 1% of Luno profits are invested in
our new, corporate-advised Biodiversity
Conservation Fund.

1%

Luno Grants

Each year, we donate 2-4 Luno Grants to a select
group of vetted non-profits. We focus on Bend,
Oregon, non-profits to better engage with our
local community, and champion organizations
that align with our company values.

1%

In-Kind Donations

To help welcome newcomers into the
camping world, we allocate 1% of profits as In-
Kind donations to organizations that help
create space for members of marginalized
communities in the outdoors.

Protecting Our Planet
& Offsetting Emissions

Offset Your Road Trip's
Carbon Emissions

Hate carbon emissions as much as you love road-tripping? Same. Our new Carbon Credits tool helps vanlifers, car campers, and truck campers offset emissions from road trips in a matter of seconds.

Offset Your Order
Emissions with EcoCart

The exact carbon emissions of each online order depend on a number of variables, among them shipping method, shipping distance, manufacturing processes, materials, etc. That’s why we use EcoCart. This groundbreaking tool uses a proprietary algorithm that  takes both production and distribution variables into account, calculates the real-time carbon emissions for each order, and gives customers the opportunity to neutralize those emissions upon checkout.

ACCESSIBILITY
THROUGH EDUCATION

For many outdoor enthusiasts, particularly those who grew up camping, spending
time in nature is second nature. We seek to make the outdoors a more accessible
and welcoming space by sharing informative, helpful, and free educational content.

Tips & Tricks to Get You Outdoors

TAKE THE CAMPER’S
CODE PLEDGE

Join us on our ongoing quest for the betterment of people and planet
by pledging to follow the Camper’s Code.

I pledge to...
  • Leave No Trace

I pledge to minimize my impact on both campground and campers to come by leaving my site better than I found it, respecting natural resources, and properly disposing of all trash.

  • Minimize Carbon Impact

I pledge to reduce my carbon impact by supporting land restoration and conservation efforts, using eco-friendly products (such as reusable water bottles), and recycling whenever possible.

  • Respect Wild Lands & Wildlife

I pledge to respect local wildlife and their habitats by keeping a safe distance, staying on trail, not feeding wildlife, and not damaging their home with my vehicle or hiking boots.

  • Spread Local Love

I pledge to support local communities whenever possible by shopping locally and finding ways to give back, as community members are often stewards of the land we enjoy.

  • Promote DEI in the Outdoors

I pledge to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion by welcoming all people of different backgrounds, cultures, and identities to the great outdoors.

  • Be a Good Friend

I pledge to bring coffee and snacks so my adventure buddies don’t have to deal with my caffeine-deprived and hangry self.

  • Be an Informed Camper

I pledge to educate myself about the local history, culture, and traditions of the places I visit, and to show respect for them.

  • Be a Leader to Others

I pledge to encourage others to follow these social and environmental initiatives and inspire them to adopt ethical & sustainable practices while car camping.

Looking to 2030

We’re committed to growing our business responsibly, a commitment showcased by two key goals we have for 2030. Firstly, we seek to become Carbon Positive. Secondly, we aim to become a certified B-Corporation. We share these lofty goals largely to be transparent about our plans for the future, but also so that we are held accountable by our outdoor community. Lastly, we hope that by sharing these goals, we encourage other outdoor brands to join us on this path.
